Guilty plea in western Pa. shooting death

A western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in a shooting death last year that authorities said was apparently over a love triangle.

The Beaver County Times (http://bit.ly/otXTyj ) says 26-year-old Terel Dixon of Aliquippa was scheduled to have a non-jury trial in Beaver County on Friday but instead entered the plea.

Dixon was charged in the May 2010 death of 45-year-old Kevin Johnson of Ambridge. Police said Dixon was fixing the door of the apartment of a woman who had a relationship with both men. Investigators said Johnson came to the home and the woman refused to allow him inside, but he forced his way in and an argument began that ended with the shooting. Defense attorney Steven Valsamidis earlier said his client fired in self-defense.
